This imposing warship is known for transforming into an ironclad juggernaut when plates of blackened iron covered in spikes are lowered over its rowing ports. Most hellclad triremes have threatening figureheads shaped like screaming devils.

Armor of Nessus Over the course of 1 minute, the ship's crew lowers spiky metal plates across key sections of the hull. The ship gains a +2 circumstance bonus to its AC and immunity to precision damage. Its collision damage becomes piercing damage. Its weakness to fire is reduced to 5, but its swim Speed is reduced to 15 feet and it can no longer be rowed. The crew can retract the plates by taking another minute.
